This, despite it's very high production values--it is a Frank Capra film after all--it is, nonetheless, pretty hard to watch. It is a well made Hollywood propaganda film--but propaganda almost in it's purest sense. I was remarking to a family member that it sort of reminds me of the Christopher Walken scene in Quentin Tarantino's Pulp Fiction, which starts out innocently enough and then descends into a pique of racist speech, until finally the truth about the pocket watch it revealed! This is part 6 in the Capra series.
