There is a very short clip of Critters on the hospital telly.

Character of Taryn (played by Jennifer Rubin) is seen wearing a Dokken t-shirt, Dokken performed the title song "Dream Warrior" for the film.

Robert Englud (that's Freddy to the rest of us!) wrote a treatment for this film that was never used.  Some of his treatment ended up in Wes Craven New Nightmare.  Also the original concept of the film, the one that was pitched the studio, was to have Freddy get out of the pure dream world and sort haunt the characters in the real world.  The studio rejected it; so Was Craven took the idea and made the above mentioned New Nightmare.

It was banned for a time in one part of Australia (Queensland)
