Thursday Christmas Mystery Lead In: Reversal Of Fortune

Based on the true story of how famed Harvard law professor and nationally known defense attorney Alan Dershowitz managed to get the convicted and universally reviled Claus von Bülow freed from the impeding date for his ordered incarceration for supposedly trying to murder his wife, heiress Sunny (nee Crawford) von Bülow.  It is a fascinating look into the legality of the issue without really coming out and taking sides on what the HBO filmmakers really thought, if anything, about what really happened.  The movie is about justice, very creepy and slightly scary justice, but justice none the less.  What makes it fascinating is both the way that Dershowitz's team changes their minds quite quickly on Bülow's guilt and that, by the end of the film, you can't help but feel slightly dirty, but still proud, or at least understanding of, the US justice system all at the same time.  What makes it Christmas...well the eggnog of course!  I'm making Pumpkin Nog right now, so it seems fitting to start with this! "Sunny loved Christmas!" --Claus.
