This is a particular favorite of mine. I play it just about any chance that I get. One thing that has always baffled me is that it never seems to make any one's list of killer plant horror films. Make no mistake about it, this dude is a plant! A very intelligent alien one, but a plant all the same!! Of course, the catch is that he and his pod like off-spring need blood, not water to grow.... Oh, and one of the sounds the The Thing makes comes from Howard Hawks' hilarious Bringing Up Baby, ironically from a scene that is gut bustingly funny, transformed into a super spooky moment of spine tingling fear!
