This is one of my favorite New Year movies. It has all the charm of the first Thin Man movie, and taken from a Dashiell Hammett story. It has all the irony, stinging jokes, flowing liquor and dry humor, along with what turns out to be a very dark mystery with James Stewart mixed to the top of the whole thing (as Easy from Devil In A Blue Dress would say).
