Bridging the old zombie genre of voodoo (as seen in, for example, in White Zombie [1932]), with the new flesh eating zombie genre of Romero; Italian giallo director Lucio Fulci gives us the best of both! Who can resist a zombie film that has them biting sharks and invading NYC via the Brooklyn Bridge?? Oh, lets not forget the giant wooden splinter to the eye! "Pass me the scalpel..."
