I just couldn't resist this after a turn with Dalgliesh, because the "vampyre" in this lengthy Conan Doyle Sherlock story is played by Roy Marsden, the actor who originally played Dalgliesh. Also, it's proof positive just how scary mysteries can be, particularly the British stories!! I am particularly a fan of Jeremy Brett's as Sherlock Holmes! RIP to him and Edward Hardwicke aka Dr. Watson!!

ReplyDeleteThanks. This is a good one, it has more than one suspense thread, with some good old fashioned English superstition, and some creepy, vaguely "Incan" stuff thrown in for good measure. It's worth a look.
