Dead Man

Featuring Johnny Depp and Gary Farmer, this quirky Jim Jarmusch film set in the 19th century, follows William Blake (Depp) as he makes his way to the end of the line in the town of Machine, somewhere way, way out west, where he thinks he has a job as an accountant waiting for him.  When he arrives, he finds out right away that there is no job, and before he can think about returning to his home town of Cleveland, things go very, very wrong!  Before he knows what is happening he finds himself in the company of the strange Indian man who calls himself "Nobody" who was captured and sent to England were he was taught English and discovered the poetry of William Blake--thinking that Depp's William Blake is the William Blake he undertakes to "help" him out.  Along the way all sorts of strange characters show up--many of them bounty hunters looking for Blake.  The cast has a crazy number of big name actors, and the soundtrack was written by Neil Young.  Cast includes:  Robert Mitchum, Gabriel Byrne, Lance Henriksen, Crispin Glover, Joh Hurt, Alfred Molina, Eugene Bird, Iggy Pop and Billy Bob Thornton (who is himself from Choctaw ancestry).
