This is one of my all time favorite haunted house movies, though now that I have a little boy of my own, my feeling about the little boy who was killed in the house have gotten a bit intense. I've mentioned before that Melvin Douglas got not one, but two ghost films under his belt before passing away: this one, as "the changeling" and Ghost Story the next year as the town doctor who just can't keep from dreaming about a certain woman he declared dead years before. Famously it also stars George C. Scott and his then wife Trish Van Devere.
