Herzog's Encounters At The End Of The World

Herzog's strange little documentary  shot partially at McMurdo Station in Antarctica (strangely with musician Henry Kaiser, who is mentioned only as a "research diver"--not as a composer--in most description of his involvement in the film), makes me realize that my desire to visit the station was a misguided one....every one there has a strange "Indian story"--that would just annoy the hell out of me!  But, still the documentary is a strangely beautiful spectacle, that has a great deal of poetry in it's images, that border on the creepy at times and surpass the surreal in many places.  And just for the heck of it, I've embedded the sound of "The Bloop" below.  Many people believe that it is a biological sound from an unknown cryptid; but glaciologists that work in Antarctica, actually believe it is the ice "talking."
