A fun factoid: some of the noises that The Thing makes was lifted from the classic Howard Hawks film Bringing Up Baby (1938). The cat-like noises that the creature makes comes from "Baby" the leopard; lifted from the "serenading" of the big cat by Susan (Katherine Hepburn) and David (Carey Grant) when it climbs onto the shrink's house--the cat "serenades" back. It must have been some sort of inside joke, since it is well known that not only was Howard Hawks the producer of The Thing..., he's remoured to have shadow directed as good portion of it of it as well. There is also a funny reference to Sgt. York as well. So having said that, here's a funny for a Friday laugh:
