This Friday happens to fall on the day of Annunciation on the Catholic calendar. It's a pretty spooky concept that some angel shows up and tells you that you are pregnant with some dieiy's baby...
Well, anyway, this is one of the most visual of the Catholic feast days--it has a strong association with painting, hence the art connection. Truthfully, I've been looking for an excuse for some time to do a art focused Friday Fright for some time now. Still this angel thing....it's a bit creepy...actually, very creepy. It deserves recognition as a Friday scare. Below are a few paintings in the canonical fashion.
