Theme Recipe: The Blue Carbuncle Cocktail

Although Conan Doyle's mineralogy leaves A LOT to be desired.... His woven Christmas tale of a missing brilliant blue stone is still captivating the the world of fantasy---beside we can have this brilliant blue fictional stone in a drink.  Have one this Christmas...better yet, have one this Halloween, just a little better than a week away.  Okay, you can make this with any vodka...but Grey Goose is really the way to go; not for the slick smoothness, but because the goose in question in this story has a gray streak on it's head...without that grey, the story wouldn't even be a mystery.

2 Parts Grey Goose Vodka
1 part Simple Syrup (sugar water)
Fresh lemon juice (not more than 1/4 oz if you like it sweet, otherwise, use what you like)
Couple of dashes of blue Curacao.  It is a brilliant blue and has a VERY strong orange taste, so don't over do it)

Mix all of this in a glass with ice.  Some recipes call for one big ice cube--do that if you like.
