Sherlock Holmes And The Secret Weapon (1943)

It may seem strange to be screening a movie featuring the great detective himself on a day featuring Europe during World War II, but it is actually set during the war.  Made in 1943 and starring Basil Rathbone as Holmes, it was an attempt to produce a picture that would bolster the British moral during the dark days of constant bombing by the Germans.  Who better to give the war effort a shot in the arm than that of Conan Doyle's super genius detecting agent??
