Haunted House 3: The Ghost And Mrs. Muir (1947)

This is the best antidote to The Haunting (1999) that I could think of.  The plot starts out in a similar fashion, but Lucy (Mrs. Muir) has a much bigger and stronger backbone than does Eleanor!!  Mrs. Muir being a widow for about a year, leaves her late husband's family to live with her daughter and house maid on her own, against their expressed wishes!  But, she makes a go of it anyway; however, her newly acquired house has a ghost....and one that helps her on her way at that.  This really isn't a scary film, but I have a soft spot for it!  Below is a fan generated gallery posted to You Tube.
