Two actors much more famous for other iconic roles collide in the 1974 killer plant/frakazoid mad scientist romp from the UK. Tom Baker was one the most recognizable of the "Doctors" from Dr. Who, here he plays a human plant mutation that ends up pollinating by the end of the film. And, of course, Donald Pleasence went on to inhabit the role of Dr. Sam Loomis in the Halloween franchise--here he plays the stark raving mad scientist who is literally The Freakmaker. Along the way we are introduced to numerous other freaks, geeks and mutations. The film's alternative title is, unsurprisingly, The Mutations. Of interest to some is that lines from this film are featured in a Rob Zombie song entitled "Rock and Roll (In A Black Hole) from his latest albumVenomous Rat Regeneration Vendor.
