The Body (2001)

During Fright Month AKA Countdown To Halloween, we take a couple of days honor some of our collective ancestry in this house.  In this case the Jewish part comes from my Mother's Mother and side of the family.  Ironically, this mystery film is as much Catholic as it is Israeli, which also is a big part of my Mother's side of the family--she went to a Catholic school, and his a big part of the husband's family as well.  Additionally, this being set in modern day Levant, there is a big Palestinian presence in the film as well.  The whole film centers around a Catholic priest (Antonio Banderas) being sent to and Israeli archaeological dig in Palestine to refute that the bones found in a ossuary box are not those of the crucified Rabbi Yesuah, AKA Jesus.  Shot on location
