A bit gob-smacked by the death of Leonard Nimoy, even though I knew he had been suffering from COPD. This is a person who made a very real difference in my life, even though I never had the privilege of meeting him. My condolences to his family, especially his kids and grand kids! This is my Scare Me tribute to his Sci-Fi characters.

Zombies Of The Stratosphere (1952) |
As the character Narab, looking at this it strikes me that this may actually have been the inspiration later on for Spock's eyebrows.
|
Them! (1954) |
This is basically my favorite 1950's atomic film, and have seen many, many times, yet I confess that until this sad day, I had no idea that Leonard Nimoy was in it! He is uncredited as "Army Sergeant."
|
The Brain Eaters (1958) |
That's a heck of makeup job! Based on a novel by famed Science Fiction author Robert Heinlein. This was later remade, with the novel's original title The Puppet Masters, starring Donald Sutherland, with whom Nimoy has starred in the highly credible remake of The Invasion Of The Body Snatchers in 1978.

The Twilight Zone: A Quality Of Mercy |
Episode dates from 1961. Set in the Pacific Theater of WWII.
|
The Outer Limits: I, Robot |
Character Judson Ellis. Plot, a robot gets an attorney. Bears a striking similarity to the big budget Will Smith film of the same name.
|
Outer Limits: Production and Decay of Strange Particles |
Character Konig. Accident at a nuclear research facility creates a breach in the dimensions.
|
Kraft Suspense Theater: Kill No More |
Well this isn't exactly science fiction, but it does involve nuclear fantasies revolving around a semi-mad scientist and a plot to kidnap him for espionage purposes, Nimoy's character helps prevent. It also involves some junk science that the military is pressuring said physicist to provide. So it sort of counts.

Star Trek: The Cage |
|
Star Trek |
No need for explanation here!
|
Mission Impossible |
After Star Trek, Nimoy had a recurring role on Mission Impossible as a man of all disguises Paris. Again, not technically Sci-Fi, but all those futuristic gadgets that they used just makes it seem that way!!
The Many Faces Of Paris
On From Paris...

Night Gallery: She'll Be Company For You |
Character: Henry Auden
