It's rare for horror movies to be nominated for any type of Oscar award, never-mind 10! That includes nominations for 3 of it's actors, it's director and Best Picture! In the end it only won two of those, for Best Sound and For Best Screenplay Based On Existing Material, but still for such a seriously scary first rate Horror Film, that's not bad!
