Up this fall on the CW. It's one of the only horror based shows slated for fall premier. It is awash in a sea of vapid looking comedies and morbid or just plain boring looking dramas. Of course, this could be vapid too for all I know.
It is #22 in the line up
Number 25 in the lineup is Terra Nova, scheduled to premiere on FOX on Monday's at 8PM. It is a sci-fi and there is a trailer.
At number number 30 is Alcatraz (listed as premiering midseason on Fox, Mondays at 9PM). It is listed as a "supernatural drama; this is JJ Abrams latest television project. There is a trailer.
For a Friday Fright series, look for Grimm (# 35), a real supernatural/mystical/Sci-fi send up from NBC premiering Friday at 9PM (also a trailer).
If you are into hard boiled crime you might want to check out the American version of the seriously grim British series of mini's Prime Suspect. This is a Peter Berg project. I am a fan of the original, and , though I like many of Berg's films, I honestly can't image that this will be that good. I just don't think it will translate all that well from across the pond, mostly because the original it quite old and times really have changed in law enforcement in regards to female detectives for the good. In any case, it is an NBC production and has he time slot of 10PM on Thursdays. It is number 36 in the lineup.
A midseason series that is along the same vein as the blockbuster Inception comes from NBC (night to be announced) in the form of Awake. I would probably think this was likely a terrible idea and a "cashing in" one at that, except that it's creator Kyle Killen has shown some genuine talent for TV production in recent years...so it must not suck. It's number 40 in Upfronts.
At # 42 is The Firm, and yes it's based on the John Grishom novel that was made into the famous Tom Cruise vehicle in 1993. Now I love legal thrillers, but this this seems like a dumb-butt idea to me. It's a midseason series on Sunday's at 10PM. [Trailer]
And no, I'm not mentioning the new Gellar vehicle, because to me it looks rather dreadful.
