The Boy And The Bicycle


This is Scott's directorial debut, featuring his brother Tony as "the boy"  (at time 14??) on the bicycle.  It is an experimental film and is meant to be a bit weird.  It was shot in 1958 and was brought to big screen in 1965.  It's really a rather beautiful little black and white film that shows hints of things to come in films like Alien and Blade Runner.  This version comes from the short film collection:


Which in addition to Scott, features short experimental from from the likes of Peter Greenaway, Christopher Nolan, & Mike Leigh, to name just a few.  Unfortunately the entire series is out of print.  If you can find it cheaply on the secondary market, it comes recommended by me.
