It's certainly not Scott's most well known film, and after Blade Runner, this late 80's American cops running amok in Osaka, Japan "crime boiler" was a big disappointment for fans of his work who thought of him as a some sort of genius. He may have had his moments early on with the likes of Alien and Blade Runner as an "art house director," but I think a lot his early fans failed to realize that he and brother Tony really just wanted to direct Hollywood movies. So main stream!! Anyway, I sort of see this as his "transition" movie from one to the other, and this is a rough transition it is!! One for the die-hard collector only!
