Theme Recipe: Werewolf Rare Roast Meat

I know that most movies from Underworld:  Evolution to Wolf people in the thorws of change to super wolf from merely human have them getting sick off eating anything other than people (of course in the case of Evolution, I'd have to give Michael a break since he is half vampire by this time!).  But werewolves turning down good rare roasted meat....personally I just can't see it.

Honestly, this is a full proof method, with the holidays coming up, roasted beef is traditional on some Christmas menus.  This comes from England--they may have a bad food reputation, but they've NEVER been accused of not knowing how roast beef!

Preheat oven to 450 degrees.

Season the outside of your roast with any spices that strike you fancy (I prefer good sea or mineral salt and fresh black pepper--use whatever you like!).  Insert a meat thermometer into the meat, avoiding any bones, they will give a false temperature when roasting.

Place beef, fat side up in roasting pan.  Roast for 20 minutes, then reduce the heat to 325 and continue to roast for around 90 minutes. Just keep checking that thermometer!  For the best rarest meat, look for a temperature of 130 degrees, for rare cook to 140. (Another estimate is 12 minutes per pound for rare meat roasted at 325.)

Transfer roast to heated platter and let sit for 15 minutes.  That's it!  Again this is RARE! If you are a wimp then roast to 150 to 160 for medium and for real wimps 170 is seriously "well done."

Serve with whatever you like, in Wolf it's assorted roasted vegetables.  Horseradish sauce is traditional, but I have not idea what in the hell werewolves would be doing eating sauce with meat!!
