Aztecs: The Masque Of The Red Death

Anyone who knows me will attest to my adoration of the late great Vincent Price.  Also that I have huge fan of Roger Corman.  So it might seem strange to view this film on a day filled with Aztec subject matter in the furtherance of protesting Columbus Day in Mexico.  The fact of the matter is, that it is a very good adaption of the Poe material, but still has at least one spot that equates not just Aztec dancers, but also appears to be a Hebrew high priest with evil and devil worship.  It was the sixties, so it is not surprising that racist images worked their way into even liberal minded films, but still it is a bit hard to take given what both ethnicities went through at the hands of Europe.
