Obviously today is Friday, but it is also the first day of Kwanzaa and Boxing Day--which translates in this household to a Fright Night theme of British Colonial Africa. Occasionally this Friday Fright stuff does tend to get a bit serious--though some lighter fare, such as this remake of the classic Boris Karloff film of 1932, can be mixed into the theme. Africa was for centuries divided between several European countries and not afforded Independence that the birth of human kind deserved. In some places it still isn't (though that has become a bit more of complicated subject). So here is to wishing everyone a great beginning of Kwanzaa and to our neighbors to the north, Canada, hope you all find some good bargains out there in the shops!
