Given the long tradition of monster film making hailing from the island nation; I am really surprised that it took the Japanese so long to get on board with the killer shark film genre. (On a serious note, Japan and (largely) other Asian nations have managed to kill so many more sharks just for their fins, than sharks have ever even injured humans during the brief time that we have shared this planet together. Facts about this horrific practice can be found at the Sharkwater site--with conservation links. Please give it a look, Wado/Thanx!)
