Back Up and Runnng

After having four techs in the house until 8:30 PM, the internet service was finally fixed to perfection!  Yipee!

So Good Morning everyone.  Today the theme is Movie With Native Actors, in honor of the 12th Annual Native American Music Awards, set for 7PM EST this evening.  Cherokee actor Wes Studi will be hosting (I've seen him host events before...he's GOOD!).

Actually this started off last night with a "Thursday Lead-In" that was a mini-Veterans Day acknowledgement, to especially honor my own father who passed away last Christmas.  He was a man of Native ancestry who served in the Korean War as one of the countries first full time radar operators.  Recently had the pleasure to buy a really nice Blu-Ray player and was pleased to watch for the first time:

Which Stars Adam Beach (Saulteaux Band of the Anishisnabe) in the role of the real life Ira Hayes (Giler River Akimel O'odham [Pima]).  They couldn't have cast a better person in the role.  Check out the resemblance below:

As for late night viewing, went with:

Which features Carolyn Jones (Comanche) in a supporting role.  Here is a lovely still of her from the movie:

Of course, she famously went on the inhabit this well known character:

So here we are another Friday, and the day started off with:

Featuring native actor Steve Reevis (Blackfoot Conf.) as the scathingly silent Shep Proudfoot:

We've moved on to another recent Blu-Ray purchase (and it looks great!):

Which stars not one, but three actors of Native American decent:  Nammy's host Wes Studi, Danny Trejo (Mexican Indian) and Val Kilmer (Cherokee):

Trejo as "Trejo"

For anyone who is interested, the Native American Music Awards has live streaming feed from several sources all day today, including the Seneca Broadcasting Station out of Salamanca NY (the commercials are a hoot!).  Just follow the link below.
