Last Of The Mohicans

Since Mr. Wes Studi is the host for tonight Native music awards show, we're featuring him heavily during the day.  Michael Mann's Last of the Mohicans (1992) features a boat load of native actors and extras.  I'm not going to get into the supposed controversy that surrounded the American Indian extras in this film during filming; I will just say that Studi should have been nominated for the Best Supporting Actor Academy Award, and it just a shame that Hollywood decided that in order to "punish" Mann for something that they precieved as discrimination on the set, they would in turn discriminate against a worthy perfomance by an American Indian.

This is another recent Blu-Ray purchase and this is my first viewing of it.  It looks terrific!  Beginning to wonder if Stanley Kubrick might not have lent out his specialized high speed camera that he peiced together (rather like Frankenstein and his monster) for the shooting of his largely candle-lit 1975 epic Barry Lyndon.
