Topper (1937)

Sticking with the light-hearted side of ghosts, and with the black and white.  It stars Cary Grant, one the best comedic actors of all time, Constance Bennett as his equally funny ghost wife, Roland Young as the poor plagued Topper and Billie Burke as his clueless, naive but charming wife.  One of Hollywood's earliest actresses Hedda Hopper makes an appearance as Mrs. Grace Stuyvesant.  It was directed by one of Hollywood earliest directors to specialize in comedy:  Norman Z. McLeod.
