Everyone knows this movie! I would like to recommend the documentary that debuted this week on Discovery How "Jaws" Changed The World, which has all the stuff we've all heard about the harm it did to the shark population off the east coast of the US, but it also highlights some good things that came of the film, such as inspiring people to specialize in sharks in pursuing as degree in Marine Biology. These days Great Whites are now off the coast of New England, and ironically the locals, for the most part are happy about them being there. Some are even a little too enthusiastic. In another Discovery documentary Jaws Returns Home one fisherman, so frustrated with the recovered seal population eating the local strippers, says that his wishes there were thousands of Whites in New England waters! Go figure....you never know how people are going to react to things! Of course the film was also made before anyone ever paid attention to the fact that Great White actually did this...
