Kolchak: Legacy Of Terror

This is cult television program from the 1970's take on the Aztec Mummy story, first popularized in the lat 1950's Mexican made horror film by director Rafael Portillo.  It also features a type of sacrifice actually practiced by the Aztecs while in power.  This was the sacrifice to god Tezcatlipoca (The Smoking Mirror), whereby one young beautiful captive male was treated like a prince of the royal house for one year, even tutored by the high priests.  At the end of that year, has was sacrificed to the deity via heart sacrifice, after smashing clay flutes on the steps of the Teocalli (God House AKA temple) as he ascended.  This was also, apparently, accompanied by lots of loud blowing death whistles.  The joke here, of course, is that so called prince in a modern setting is Eric Estrada in a pastel business suit!!

Tezcatlipoca from a codex

He is recognizable by the face paint--a simple black band across the face.  Many modern participants in danza sport this face paint in honour of The Smoking Mirror, especially around the days of the dead.

A Tezcatlipoca mask made from a real human skull.  Likely from one the actual sacrificial young men described above.
