I ran across this nice little review in
Slate of the Library of America's new edition of 6 graphic novels of artist Lynd Ward. The edition features all new pulls of his woodcuts. Keep in mind these are from the late 1920's and 1930's--which is pretty amazing if you think about it, they are every bit as poignant as anything Frank Miller has published.
