A Friday Fright Connection to the Native American Music Awards

Since this is "Columbus Day," and I like to try to treat in such a way as call attention to Native achievements, and this is a favorite of mine.

The Native American Music Awards, or Nammys, are coming up on their 12 annual award show this November 12--a Friday!  I am hosting a special Friday Frights at my place of movies featuring native actors.  The awards are always streamed live over the Internet.  They haven't announced who is carrying it this year yet--and they do operated on "Indian Time," over there--but they will get around it.  Anyone can vote (you now have to register to do that, but they are very good with emails--no spam, selling lists, etc).  If you don't know the music, no big deal--most of us who wheedle down the initial submissions haven't heard 75% of it.  It is a great place to go to hear new music in a whole host of traditional and non-traditional musical genres, even if you don't want vote.  Be aware, however, this is basically a native run operation, so it's not going to be "state of the art."  One thing they are having trouble with this year is getting the various menus with the songs to scroll properly.  Don't know what they did, but this is first year that I have encountered this, and I've voting since year 1.  One thing that they dispensed with that is annoying, is the player that automatically came up with the nominations for best artist(s) on the home page.  Anyway... Here are few Native spooks from time of year.  The Nahua (Mexica Aztec) day of the dead dance if kinda long, but authentic.  Again, if you want to see it, follow the link, the embed isn't cooperating.
