Alien Resurrection Directors Cut (1997)

Directed by Jean-Pierre Jeunet in 1997, this was the least popular and the Alien sequels.  He was two years out from his ground breaking, and exceedingly strange La cite' des Enfants Perdus (City of Lost Children), and he brought his cinema du look, a film movement of the 1990's in France, to the project...needless to say, it didn't pan out so well--the film lost 22 million bucks.      It is precisely this style of cinema that draws me personally to the film--I just don't think it's nearly as bad as people thought, or think, it was (is).  Maybe "misunderstood" would be a better word.  Of course, back in France, Jeunet would go on to direct his fantazoid Amelie (2001) in the style, with renewed success.
