Oscar Friday: Jurassic Park (1994 Oscar Winner)
One of the best (and most expensive) "creature features" ever produced, this Stephen Spielberg film has a ton of great monster moments...so it's NO surprise that it won all three categories it was up for: Best Sound, Best Sound Effects & Best Visual Effects.

Oscar Weekend: Them! [Horror At The Oscars]
One of my favorites--this was one of the few 1950's atomic "creature features" to ever get an Oscar nod. It was nominated for Best Effects for the 1955 ceremony (20,000 Leagues Under The Sea starring Kirk Douglas won).
