31 Days of Horror Recommendations: "Twin Peaks" (All Three Seasons)

Years: 1990-2017

Number of Seasons: 3

Creators: David Lynch & Mark Frost

Subgenre: Supernatural/Folk Horror/Native American Horror/Surrealism

Episode Runtime: 45 minutes to 60 minutes

Company: Paramount/Showtime

Star: Kyle MacLachlan

I am not assuming that people haven't heard of "Twin Peaks," it's one of the most well known television series in the world! This is really another of my viewing recommendations. I have found that a lot of fans of the "original series" were either late in finding out about, or didn't know about, the "return series" released on Showtime in 2017. Up until recently we didn't have access to the Showtime material and we just started watching it out-right. I now REALLY wish we had taken the time to re-watch the first two seasons from the early 90's first. You might not think that, even with such a meticulous filmmaker like Lynch, that there would be a lot of granular detail in a series returned to life after so long a hiatus. WRONG. I now am looking for some viewing calendar space with which to go back and start the whole thing from the beginning later this year. But I see on various social media that a lot of peeps are doing a watch for the spooky month. If you haven't seen the 2017 third season and haven't seen the original recently, take it from someone who didn't approach the return properly. You are going to want to have the details of the original fresh in mind when tackling the new stuff.

Psych's Twin Peaks Spoof--Extended For DVD

Episode:  Dual Spires

For the DVD release the episode of the season with the most meticulous care has been released with a "super extended version."  It is the Twin Peaks spoof that was the buzz of the Psych online community for months.  Looking forward to seeing the super deluxe version!
