Currently On: It Conquered The World MST3K Version





As anyone who is a fan of MST3K, knows is that sometimes, weird old short films and promotionals in before the actual movie plays, in this case it's a 1945 short entitle Snow Thrills....  This is yet another Roger Corman film, with a super silly monster, that also happens to be an alien.










The late musician Frank Zappa was a fan of these types of films and referred to the "monster" here as an "inverted ice cream cone  The movie dates from 1956.

A film produced before the untimely death of Jimmy Carl Black (Cheyenne), you know "the Indian of the group," this details the beginnings of The Mothers through to their earliest touring success, with a sojourn in NYC.  Below is a clip featuring Black.  RIP!

This year marks the 20th since the untimely and early death of the genius composer Frank Zappa.  So, what better way to spend the Friday after Thanksgivikah, avoiding the stores like the plague, than to spend it with the wonderful weirdness of Zappa?!
