31 Days Of Blavod: The Black Lagoon
THE BLACK LAGOON
The original to this is combined with a rosemary-lemon syrup, other variation have popped up with mint & lime--so use whatever herb and citrus combo (or herb and any fruit combo). The syrup can be made either by infusing herbs in sugar water syrup at low temperatures on the stove, or infusing the herbs and citrus peels in already prepared sugar syrup in the fridge.
2 ounces of the herb-fruit syrup
4 ounces Blavod
2 tsp. fresh citrus juice (lemon or lime is best)
Combine these in a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Pour into two glasses filled with ice and top with soda. Alternatively you can strain into four glasses with one or two ice cubes and serve as "straight" drink.

Weena's (& Zahn) Choice (yeah they're cats!): Blade II
Here's the deal...Weena is really a smart cat with a movie predilection of her own, but she is also incredibly interroant of other cats...well other beings wouldn't be too hard a stretch, up until recently she hated delivery people! But as a fellow animal she really is loads of fun to watch movies with...she just loves movies with a bit of "the old ultra-violence." We rescued a mom kitty with a litter of three kittens, which didn't set well with Queen Weena from day one! Mom and one kitten have found homes....that means she still has to "deal" with two baby cats....poor, poor Weena! She only owns her own DVD collection....she's not spoiled or anything.... This Blade movie is also a favorite of our Chartreaux kitty Zahn, which is really why I put it on... Below is one ridiculous interview with Weena after kitten rescue.
Nosferatu The Vampyre (1979)
This is the English language film, not the German one. The two films are not the same movie. Rather than have a dub, Herzog just made two separate films, one in his native German and another one in English, and they definitely do not track scene by scene! Below is the trailer for the US

Salem's Lot (1979)
I think Tobe Hooper did a great job with this late 70's mini--I've tried to watch the 2004 remake with Rutger Hauer and couldn't get through it. Hauer's Barlow may follow the story more faithfully, but he talks way too much, and really not a lot of vampires get scarier than this guy!
