The principle building, mentioned in the film as being located on Central Park West, actually is located there at 55, in the historic district of NYC. Again, like the Dunimuir house in Burnt Offerings, it has been around for a long time (earliest portions of the building apparently date from 1910's). It has also had a long list of famous occupants and still is a building filled with private residences. To my knowledge, it has not reported any activity of the paranormal--which is actually kind of surprising! 👻. Of course, the whole premise of the story is a spoof of Rosemary's Baby and the building she finds herself trapped in.
Wow 34 years old! This movie still holds the record of how many times I have seen it in the theater! 6 times!! Any time a buddy wanted to go see it I would be more than happy to join in on the fun. Loved this movie.
ReplyDeleteI was the same! I think this is a tie for me, along with Raiders of the Lost Ark--I was barely old enough to go the Raiders with friends at least once alone with friends--by the time this came out I really had a taste for dragging peeps to the theater!
