I don't get a chance to comment as much as I used to on individual posts...life has just gotten too crazy, but I would like to say a couple of things about the inclusion on this in a "horror couples" marathon. Firstly is that this production solidly counts as a horror film (the witches are amongst the most "witchy" of any filmed version of the play); the production does not skimp on blood or dismemberment! Sir Patrick Stewart and Kate Fleetwood terrify the viewer with their performances and the residue of watching is one soilidy of that there is a kind of "final girl" moment...only it's a man! Secondly, the actions taken by this murderous pair spread true horror amongst everyone...themselves included; so, basically, yes, Shakespeare was also a horror author (and why not? he rules every other genre with ease!).
