Though not credited as such, this Italia-Spanish production is in fact based on Le Fanu's Carmilla. This version in the AIP television distribution copy--also currently on Amazon Prime.
Watched it this afternoon. Slow and moody, but not the worst thing. Bit of a Gothic mystery. The scene with the dog pulling on the sock of the hanging beggar and causing the bell to gong was quite something. Thanks for posting, never would have been aware of it on Amazon Prime.
