Theme Recipe: Vincent Price's Own BLOODY MARY

THE VINCENT PRICE BLOODY MARY

What the hell would the countdown to Halloween be without Bloody Mary??  Price made his by the pitcher.  He states in his book that he drank his without garnish by stating

I retire with my drink to the fern garden where the cool greens make a lovely background for the orange-re Bloody Mary, and I can sip it while contemplating a new fer frond ufurling.  (Try saying that after one of these!)

I take that to mean that the ferns were garnish enough.  Here's the drink.  And, again Happy Halloween.  BTW:  this drink did not originally contain any lime as some online recipes have---it is pure lemon...and oh, it unabashedly calls for MSG!!

For 1 pitcher:

6 jiggers of vodka
6 dashes of Tabasco
6 dashes of Worchestershire sauce
6 tbsp. of lemon juice
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. freshly ground pepper
1/4 tsp. monsodium glutamate
2 tsp. sugar
2 medium cans vegetable juice (my note:  by medium in modern standards that's the equivalent to 2 soda cans of V8)
