Dan Gilroy neo-noir was nominated for Best Original Screenplay which was also penned by Gilroy (his recent penned and directed effort, the "art horror" Velvet Buzzsaw, also starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Rene Russo is a Netflix exclusive and highly recommended). Nightcrawler also features the late great Bill Paxton.
