Being a fan of classic horror films, I really think that that of all the remakes of the Universal monsters that have been thus far, this is the the best. I know that may not be alright by some standards when comparing it to Coppola's Dracula, but I saw that in the theaters...and although, that was a fun night as far as it went, despite that Sir Anthony Hopkins is in both of them, the film is pretty schlocky....and those accents! This one sticks pretty closely to the original story and updates the sets and special effects. As to the part that they did change, I kinda of like it. The idea that somehow Lawrence's father brought back the spirit or the infection of a rakshasa from the far east is kind of cool; even though it's not specifically stated in the film.
