Watching this just before going out to see The Lone Ranger at the cinema, because of Gary Farmer's (who is Cayuga, playing a Cheyenne) character Aaron Two Rivers, who is a self-styled "opposite clown" or a sacred clown of the Cheyenne people, who speaks in opposites, such as in if he says "good evening," he means "good morning." They are also called "contrary warriors." This is similar to the Heyoka of the Lakota people. They are really a type of trickster, sacred ones, or tempters. Longmire finds this out for himself, when Aaron appears on his property riding a horse backwards, bedecked with a native mask, yelling at Longmire "Sweet dreams Sheriff. It is a beautiful night to be born," meaning "it is a terrible morning to die!"
