Although this is in no way comparable in terms of actual scream fest horror to Bob Clark's original 1974 "attic classic," this has none the less become a kind of Christmas special in this house...mostly because it is so irreverent...and honestly, it doesn't really take itself seriously. So, I guess what I think is that if you divorce it from being a "remake" it's a hell of a lot better than most Christmas horror of recent years...and I own a lot of the straight to vid stuff!
